Breakfast poridge

Well basically it's not even a recipe but an idea what to eat for a change.

I'm that kind of person who eats almost the same thing every morning which is oats with almond milk, honey and cinnamon. That's because I don't really have time in the morning to make something more special, I always rush to work so I'm very satisfied with this kind of solution - it's nutritious, healthy and delicious.

But on the other hand I love breakfast as an idea. I love spending time in the kitchen, making something new, something delicious that I could treat myself. So Sunday is the day when I can relax and do some of that.

This time I chose to make a porridge because my fridge was completely empty (I definitely need to go shopping haha).

Millet groats is not something very common here in Greece so I tried it literally last year when my sister was making breakfast for her little girl and I loved it so much! (You can find this product in deli shop in Naxos).

So today I made a super delicious millet groats porridge with levander that gives an extra flavor to your dish.

You will need:

· 1/3 millet groats

· ½ or more water or almond milk

· A pinch of cinnamon

For fruits

· 1 tsp butter

· 1/3 cup frozen red berries

· A pinch of cinnamon

· 2 tsp honey or maple syrup

· 3 small levander leaves

1 tbsp peanut butter (for serving)

Add millet groats, milk or water and cinnamon to a small pot and boil for about 10 minutes or until they are soft (you might need to add some water if it dries out quickly and millet groats are too hard).

Place to a serving plate.

Add butter to a small frying or a sauce pan. Once it's melted, add the berries and cinnamon. Stir gently. Add honey and levander leaves and leave it to boil until berries are soften.

Place berries on top of the porridge. Sprinkle with the juice from berries.

Add peanut butter and serve.
